My name is Valerie Hill

I am Owner and Principal Engineer of Valerie Hill, PE, PLLC. I grew up in Northern Virginia and received a Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech in 2012 and 2014, respectively. I started my career in structural engineering designing residential, commercial, and industrial structures, while also completing smaller projects for residential and commercial renovations and additions. In 2020, I joined a Forensic Engineering firm where I investigate insurance claims for structures that experience damage from wind, hail, tornado, hurricane, fire, tree or vehicle impacts. I missed the world of design so in April 2022, I started my Structural Engineering firm in Charlottesville, VA, to provide design and forensic investigation to my community. I look forward to meeting you and learning how I can help you with your next project!

Outside of the office, you can often find me exploring the local wineries, events, and parks with my husband, daughter, and friends. I also enjoy listening to audiobooks, gardening, pressing flowers, and doing house projects.
